Plot

Selig's California facilities in Edendale served as the backdrop for the one-reel Western Romona's Father. A brash American sailor intrudes upon the Southern California Spanish colony, where he falls for a bewitching senorita named Romona. Unfortunately, Romona's father is a stickler for customs, especially those pertaining to courtship. Unable to come up to the old man's strict standards, the hero gives up Romona and settles down with an Indian maiden.
