Biography

The sixth German season of the casting show Popstars gave us pop quartet Room2012 in 2007, which is comprised of four vocalists: Julian Kasprzik (b. October 12, 1987) and Sascha Schmitz (b. July 17, 1984), both participants in earlier seasons of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (Germany's American Idol), as well as Cristobal Galvez Moreno (b. May 19, 1987) and the only female in the group, Tialda van Slogteren (b. May 22, 1985 in Amsterdam), who appeared in the Dutch casting show Idols. Accompanying the band in their live performances is a group of dancers called Popstars Dance Company, also cast during the show (the winners were Aziz Kruezi, Armin "Shorty" Nezirevic, Darren Drake Baldric, Raik Preetz, and Vika Ljascenko). Only a week after the show's final episode, Room2012's debut album Elevator and its first single "Haunted" hit the stores. The album reached #7 in the German charts and #4 in the Austrian charts, making it the first Popstars-derived band not to hreach number one. ~ Christian Genzel, All Music Guide
