rootogram

 

A diagram, suggested by Tukey in 1971, that resembles either a histogram with equal-width categories, or a bar chart. However, in the rootogram, it is the square-root of frequency that is plotted on the vertical axis. The diagram gives increased prominence to the less frequent values. See also hanging rootogram.
