Biography

Tyran Carlo -- the writing name of Roquel "Billy" Davis -- was half of a Detroit songwriting team with Berry Gordy, before Gordy founded Motown Records. When Carlo's cousin, the incredible singer Jackie Wilson, left the Dominoes and went solo, Carlo & Gordy penned Wilson's first several hits, including "Reet Petite," "To Be Loved," "Lonely Teardrops," and "I'll Be Satisfied," all singles in the late '50s. ~ Joslyn Layne, Rovi
