[ro-ZAY duh LWAHR] An appellation that covers a wide area in France's loire Valley including the subregions of anjou, saumur and touraine. The Rosé de Loir AC is for wines made from a minimum of 30 percent Cabernet (usually cabernet franc) blended with gamay, groslot Pineau d'Aunis, and pinot noir. The wines are drier (see dry) than the rosé d'anjou ac wines produced throughout much of the same region.
