rotary solenoid
(′rōd·ə·rē ′sō·lə′nöid)
(electromagnetism) A solenoid in which the armature is rotated when actuated; the rotary stroke, ranging from 25 to 95°, is usually converted to linear motion to give a longer stroke than is possible with a conventional plunger-type solenoid.
