Rother Valley is a Parliamentary constituency in South Yorkshire named after the River Rother. It returns one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post voting system.

It is considered a safe Labour seat and has been represented by Kevin Barron since the 1983 general election.

Boundaries

Rother Valley constituency covers an area in the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham south of Rotherham itself. It is bordered by the constituencies of Bassetlaw, Bolsover, Derbyshire North East, Don Valley, Rotherham, Sheffield South East, and Wentworth and Dearne.

Boundary review

Following their review of parliamentary representation in South Yorkshire in the 2000s, the Boundary Commission for England made minor alterations to the existing Rother Valley constituency.

The electoral wards used in the creation of the altered seat are:

From the Metropolitan Borough of Rotherham: Anston and Woodsetts, Dinnington, Hellaby, Holderness, Maltby, Rother Vale, Sitwell, and Wales.
