Roti (Hindi: रोटी, Urdu: روٹی) is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language film directed by Manmohan Desai which stars Rajesh Khanna, Mumtaz, Om Prakash, Vijay Arora, and Nirupa Roy. The music is by Laxmikant Pyarelal. The film story is about Mangal (Rajesh Khanna), an infamous criminal since his childhood who escapes from jail after been remanded. He reaches Jammu and Kashmir, India to hide himself from the police, where he meets Bijli (Mumtaz) and falls in love. It became a hit at the box office.[1] The film was later remade in Telugu as Neram Nadi Kadu Akalidi (1976) starring N.T. Rama Rao.[2]
