Rotrouenge
Medieval term applied to certain troubadour and trouvère poems, apparently denoting the presence of a refrain and distinguishing features of rhyme scheme. It is rarely found; only four troubadour and six trouvère songs are so designated. By the late 12th and 13th centuries it had lost its identity, if it ever had one.
