Hollywood movies might stink, but reading critical opinions about them can be fresh. Rotten Tomatoes is an online publisher of movie reviews; the company's Web site provides a capsule summary of the writings of various professional film critics. Its content is governed by its Tomatometer rating system, which denotes the percentage of critics who recommend a certain movie -- or the number of good reviews divided by the total number of reviews. In order for a movie to receive a "fresh" rating (good review), the reading on the Tomatometer for that movie must be at least 60%. Otherwise, the movie is deemed "rotten". Critics come from accredited publications in the US, Canada, the UK, and Australia .
