Rouge Fairways is an upscale planned community located in east part of Markham, Ontario inhabited, mainly, by established families.
The community is developed from lands along the old IBM Golf and Country Club in the late 1990s. Some of the local roads in the community retain links to the old golf course. The remaining farmland in the area has all but disappeared. The Rouge River cuts through the community and includes the village of Boxwood, Ontario.
Part of the old course is now the Markham Green Golf and Country Club and Parkview Golf Course.
The community consist of large single-detached homes.
The community is bounded by Highway 407 to the north, 9th Line to the east, Parkview Golf Course to the south and Markham Road to the west.
Transportation links to the community include Ontario Highway 407 and York Region Transit.
The railway lines in the area carrier freight only, there is no passenger service in the community.
