Review
As most longtime fans will attest, Yes have issued an overabundance of live sets over the years -- be it in either the CD or video/DVD formats. With the group's classic lineup back on the road regularly by the late '90s/early 21st century, yet another live set was compiled, 2003's Roundabout: Best of Yes Live. Surprisingly, the renditions are a few years old, as they've been culled from their 1999 tour of the U.S. On this particular tour, keyboard wiz Rick Wakeman was not present, but with such mainstays as singer Jon Anderson and guitarist Steve Howe included, the instantly identifiable "Yes sound" is still intact. Starting things off with a rendition of "Yours Is No Disgrace" taken at a slightly slower pace than usual, quite a few gems can be spotted, including a gorgeous take of the serene "And You and I," "I've Seen All Good People," "Roundabout," and "Owner of a Lonely Heart" (which is an interesting selection, since it was Trevor Rabin, not Howe, who played on the original). No real surprises here, but enough for hardcore fans to add it to their CD wish lists. ~ Greg Prato, All Music GuideTracks
