1887Uncle Lisha's Shop: Life in a Corner of Yankeeland. This classic in Vermont literature includes local-color depictions of culture in the foothills of the Green Mountains and is considered the prolific writer's best work. Uncle Lisha is a cobbler and the leader of a group of characters who meet at his shop to discuss events, gossip, and tell tales. Robinson was a woodcarver, cartoonist, and writer about Vermont country life.
