Royal Academy of Music [RAM].

Conservatory founded in London in 1822. William Crotch was its first principal. The first professional music school in England, it provides full-time courses for composers, performers and teachers, and degree courses.

The same name was used by the organization that put on opera in London, 1720-28, with Handel as musical director.
