The agreement of the Crown, given under the royal prerogative and signified either by the sovereign in person or by royal commissioners, that converts a Bill into an Act of Parliament or gives a Measure the force of an Act. It is the duty of the Clerk of the Parliaments to endorse the date on which it was given immediately after the long title.
