"Rubber Ball" was an early-1961 hit for Bobby Vee. It was produced by Thomas "Snuff" Garrett, a 19-year-old Texan, and co-written at the Brill Building in New York by Gene Pitney.
The song was Vee's second single release in the US where it made number 6 on the Billboard charts; and was a breakthrough hit for the artist in the UK, where it reached number 4 on the UK charts.
