Rubin

Rubin, a minor Middle High German Minnesänger, was a native of Tyrol and, notwithstanding the absence of any prefix, is believed to have been of minor nobility. Rubin, whose home was possibly Merano, is represented by 22 songs, rather pale reflections of the manner of Reinmar der Alte. His poems include a Tagelied and crusade songs, and it is thought that he may have participated in the crusade of 1228-9.
