1857Russell's Magazine. A monthly magazine is founded by William Gilmore Simms and edited by Paul Hamilton Hayne, which grew out of meetings of the Russell's Bookstore Group, a literary association that met at John Russell's bookshop in Charleston. The magazine strongly supported the South.
