Plot

As the life expectancy in developed countries doubled over the course of the last century, thirty new infectious diseases, including AIDS, have emerged to pose some of the greatest health risks in history to mankind. In this installment of the popular PBS series RX for health, medical experts examine both the emergence of new, fast-traveling epidemics and the frightening re-appearance of diseases long though controlled by science to explore just how safe humans are from these microscopic killers and urge the strengthening of global public health systems. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
