(b Cwm, Ebbw Vale, 1943). Welsh tenor. Ricordi opera prize; sang in Glyndebourne ch. and won John Christie Scholarship 1965. Début WNO 1964 as Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia. Glyndebourne for 25 years from 1965; Scottish Opera from 1966; CG from 1969; Salzburg Fest. 1970; S. Francisco 1970; NY Met 1975. Taught at RNCM.
