Sadie, a black Labrador Retriever, is a 2007 recipient of the Dickin Medal (the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross).

Medal
She was awarded the medal for finding a bomb planted underneath sandbags, close to where a German soldier was killed by a suicide car bombing outside the United Nations headquarters in Kabul in November 2005.
Sadie became the 25th canine recipient of the medal, which she received from Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra.
Military service
Sadie served in Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan and is part of the 102 Military Working Dog Support Unit of the Royal Army Veterinary Corps based in Sennelager, Germany.[1]
