Saethrith

Saethrith (Saethryda), (7th century), abbess of Faremoutier-en-Brie. Mentioned by Bede as a daughter (modern scholars make a stepdaughter) of Anna, king of the East Angles, Saethrith became a nun at Faremoutier like some other Anglo-Saxon princesses of her time. She did not return to England, but died at Faremoutier. Feast: 10 January.
