Sagebrush Gospel

  • AMG Rating: starstar
  • Genre: Western
  • Release Year: 1924

Plot

Starring and directed by Dick Hatton (who used the less colloquial "Richard Hatton" for the occasion), this minor western featured a lovely evangelist (Neva Gerber) who gets in trouble with an unscrupulous dance hall operator (Harry Van Meter). Enter Christian cowboy Hatton, who commences to win the aforementioned den of inequity in a high stakes poker game. In Hatton's hands, the former dance hall is turned into a church. If nothing else, Sagebrush Gospel told a story slightly out of the ordinary. The film was produced by Benjamin F. Wilson's Wild West Productions. ~ Hans J. Wollstein, All Movie Guide
