Sahajayāna

A late antinomian offshoot of tantric Buddhism associated with some of the ‘great adepts’ (mahā-siddhas) such as Saraha that later gained popularity in Tibet especially in the Kagyü school. Although usually viewed as a form of tantric Buddhism, the practice of Sahajayāna makes little use of the complex rites and visualizations normally associated with tantric practice. See also sahaja.
