Salcah

An important city on the eastern border of Bashan in the former of , which was conquered by Moses (Deut 3:10; Josh 12:5; 13:11) and given to half the tribe of Manasseh (Deut 3:13). It was on the border of the of (I Chr 5:11). In the Hellenistic-Roman period a large village called Triakome flourished there. In surface surveys numerous Greek and Nabatean inscriptions were discovered, and also fragments of Nabatean architecture.
