Biography

The career of American film editor Samuel E. Beetley spanned five decades. He spent his first twenty years in the business editing films at RKO. During the 1960s, Beetley moved to Four Star Productions where he began working in television. He also continued working in films and won Oscars for "Best Editing" on The Longest Day (1962) and Doctor Dolittle(1967)In addition, he worked as a post-production supervisor on several Fox films. He spent the last years of his life working on television productions and won seven Emmy nominations and two Emmy's.
