Tertiary programs include courses in Commerce, Criminology, Engineering, Arts and Sciences, and Nursing while a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree is offered as a Graduate Course. History
San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite was founded in 1966, following the Recollect Father's work in the City of Cavite. Recollect Convents and Churches were established in the Port Town of Cavite as early as 1616 as part of the observance of St. Augustine's Rule.
Under the school's first year of operation, the campus had one building being shared by 281 students, both in the High School and College levels and the Fathers, as their residence. The 1970's saw the population growth of the College and in 1977, a four-storey right wing extension was built to meet the growing demand.
The building featured a chapel, an auditorium. In 1983, the Father's moved out from the Campus to a once small gymnasium at the back of the Campus to enable students to use more of the building's amenities.
In 1995, the St. Ezekiel Moreno building was built. The five-story building was the site of the New High School and College Libraries, Laboratories (Computer, Criminology, Mass Communications) and a Small Gymnasium located at the fifth floor.
An annex building, St. Joseph the Worker, was constructed months after the inauguration to further accommodate the growing student population. It featured an Instructional Media Center, a conference room at the penthouse. In 2001, another building, Our Lady of Consolation, was inaugurated which made additional Engineering laboratories, offices and more classrooms.
In 2001, the school was able to purchase a reclaimed area near Samonte Park in the Cañacao District to the site of the future campus for the Grade School and High School levels. In August 2004, the Recoletos 4th. Centennial Gymnasium was inaugurated and in school year 2006-2007, the High School Department moved to the new campus while a Pre-School and Lower Basic Education Department were opened to the public.
The History of the Library
The Recollect Fathers of SSC-R in Manila founded San Sebastian College - Recoletos de Cavite on April 1966. A school library was established with a substantial number of books were purchased and others were donated.
At the beginning. a small room was specifically assigned for the library and thus the books were kept in bookcases.
In year 1968, a big change in the management of the school library was implemented. A room located at the 3rd. floor was assigned for the library in a 3-story building. The enrollment kept on growing along the buildings. The library was then transferred to the 1st. floor occupying the entire room. A big number of books have been acquired since then. More improvements were made and implemented. Along with these are installation of more furniture and equipment.
With a marked increase in its book collections, due to bigger enrollment and frequent purchases and donations received. High School Library on the summer of 1988. Since then, the collection of books, audio-visual materials and equipment continued to increase. That same school year, the library staff decided on a major change in its loan procedure by adopting the open-self system.
On the month of Oct. 1996, the Higher Basic Education Library was transferred to the Saint Ezekiel Moreno Building, to provide a more spacious area for the growing population of the school as well as to ensure much better facilities for the clientele. This is a fully air-conditioned room with one hundred-twenty sitting capacity. Upon transferring to the St. Ezekiel Moreno Building on the same month, the school provided a new and separate Audio Visual Room (A.V.R.) to maximize the use of projected media which includes filmstrips, slides and documentaries which help the students to comprehend and learn more about their subjects. It is fully air-conditioned room with 55 seating capacity.
In the year 2003, the high school library has undergone system automation. The loaning procedures were computerized through the acquisition of computer software called ATHENA along with the implementation of barcode system. Computer terminals were deployed for the library's online catalog and electronic based materials.

Recollect Schools in the Philippines
As part of Recollect School tradition, selected high school students go to an annual event called SCORES or the Student Congress of Recollect Schools in the Philippines. Hosting of the event rotates among five schools, CST-R, SSC-R de Cavite, SSC-R de Manila, UNO-R Bacolod, and USJ-R and schools which do not host send representatives. Such event is held to be able to forge bonds and establish relationships among students from different Recollect schools in the country.
