"Santo Subito!" means "Sainthood Now!" It is a slogan that began appearing as early as Pope John Paul II's funeral on April 8, 2005, even though it would seem to contradict usual practices in the Catholic Church, which doesn't do anything, much less confer sainthood, immediately. This video does not even attempt to make the case for Pope John Paul II's elevation to sainthood, at least in so many words. It is not a documentary so much as a panorama in which a variety of footage of the Pope is intercut with crowd scenes and shots of holy images, as the Pope is heard reciting biblical passages (including the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount) and praying generally, over inspirational orchestral music composed by Simon Boswell. The Pope celebrates the Mass in Brazil (even doing a bit of singing); he rides around in the Popemobile, alternately waving to crowds and, it seems, holding on for dear life; and, at the end, scenes from his funeral are shown. He clearly comes across as a reverent and serious figure, but whether or not that's enough to make him a saint will have to be for his church to decide. ~ William Ruhlmann, All Music Guide
