San-vi-tal'i-a. North American tender herbaceous annuals comprising about 7 species.

Description
Leaves simple, opposite, ovalish. Flowers in small terminal heads. Ray flowers yellow or white, the disk flowers brown or purplish black.

How to Grow
Easy to grow. Prefers warm weather and light, open soil in full sun. Sow in early spring indoors or in a cold frame, or direct seed when warm weather arrives. Resistant to heat and humidity.

Sanvitalia procumbens
Creeping Zinnia . Trailing to 6 in. (15 cm) long. Flowerheads numerous, to 1 in. (2.5 cm) wide. Ray flowers yellow, disk flowers purple. Mexico. New golden forms. Good for hanging baskets and ground covers. Tender annual.
