Sapna is a town and municipality in northeastern Bosnia and Herzegovina. Administratively, it is part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Tuzla Canton. Sapna had a population of 15,850 people.

History

Before the Bosnian War, Sapna used to be part of the Zvornik municipality. But as a result of the Dayton Agreement, the Zvornik municipality was divided in two between the two entities, so Sapna became a municipality itself, comprising the half of the Zvornik municipality that remained in the Federation.

The other villages in the Sapna municipality are Vitinica, Mededa, Nezuk, Zaseok, Godus, Rastosnica, Kovacevici, Zuje, Selimovici and more.

Demographics

Before the war, Sapna had a population of 3850, with Bosniaks making up about 80% of the population, with the rest mainly being Serbs. It is not known exactly how many people live now in the town and the municipality of Sapna since there has not been a census since 1991. But most estimates have the population at slightly more than 15,850 people, most of whom are Bosniaks.

In 2005, 99% of population of the municipality were ethnic Bosniaks.
