History
Located along FM 434 in the northern part of the county, the community was founded in 1872, although at a slightly different location; residents moved to the current site in order to be along a newly-constructed line of the San Antonio & Aransas Pass Railway. The community was originally named Laguna, but by the time that it received a post office in 1917, the name had been changed to "Satin" in honor of an employee of the railroad.[4]
