Satisfaction (also titled Girls of Summer) is a 1988 drama starring Justine Bateman and Liam Neeson. It is also the film debut of Julia Roberts, in supporting role. It is also one of the few theatrical productions by both Aaron Spelling and NBC.
Plot
Jennie Lee (Justine Bateman) is the lead singer of an all-girl rock band named The Mystery. After recruiting a male keyboard player (Scott Coffey), the band lands a summer gig playing at a beachside club owned by Martin Falcon (Liam Neeson). Things become complicated when Jennie begins a romantic relationship with Martin, and a street gang pursues the band to retrieve their van that, as it turns out, band member Mooch (Trini Alvarado) had stolen.
Soundtrack
A soundtrack for the movie was released in 1988. Billed as being performed by Justine Bateman & The Mystery, the instruments are actually performed by session players, with Bateman on lead vocals and Britta Phillips on background vocals. The lead vocal on "Mr. Big Stuff" was sung by co-star Britta Phillips, despite the billing on the soundtrack packaging. The soundtrack also featured songs by other artists.
