Scandiano is a town and comune in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, administratively part of the province of Reggio Emilia. It had some 24,700 inhabitants as of 31 March 2009.

It is the native town of twice Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi. Other notable natives of Scandiano are: poet Matteo Maria Boiardo, whose family ruled Scandiano in the fifteenth century; biologist Lazzaro Spallanzani, who lived in the eighteenth century, and photographer Luigi Ghirri.

Since the 1960s, the town has been an important centre of tiles production, connected to the district of Sassuolo.
