Stuart Schweigert (born June 21, 1981 in Saginaw, Michigan) is a professional American football player for the Oakland Raiders.
Schweigert graduated from Purdue University, and began his professional career with the Oakland Raiders in 2005. He was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2004 NFL Draft
While at Purdue Stuart (often referred to as Stuuuuuuuuuu by the student section) collected 17 career interceptions, besting the previous school career record mark of 11. In his final game at Ross-Ade Stadium he had two interceptions, including a game-clinching pick in a 27-14 victory over Iowa. It is a shame that he couldn't extend that success to his playing time with the Raiders.
He attended Heritage High School in Saginaw, and was ranked as the No. 9 defensive back and No. 78 player overall in the nation by the Prep Football Report...Ranked as the No. 18 best skill athlete by SuperPrep and a four-star recruit (out of four) by Rivals.com...PrepSport All-American and named to the Detroit News and Saginaw News dream teams...Totaled 1,502 rushing yards with 22 touchdowns as an option quarterback, threw for 500 yards with four touchdowns and recorded 50 tackles with three interceptions and seven pass breakups on defense en route to being named the Detroit Athletic Club Male Athlete of the Year as senior...Led the league in rushing and scoring ... [a]lso participated in basketball and track ([1]).
Schweigert is known to take bad angles while preferring to drop to his knees and arm-tackle.
