Review

"Meddling kids" of all ages will enjoy Scooby-Doo's Snack Tracks: The Ultimate Collection, a 19-track collection of favorites from the long-running animated series. Best are the songs taken from the original 1969 series, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You?; all are pleasantly kitschy bubblegum confections, especially the title track and "Recipe for My Love," from the episode Nowhere to Hyde. Later incarnations of the theme (from 1972, 1976, and 1984, respectively) are far less engaging, however, while other curiosities including Jerry Reed's "Pretty Mary Sunlite," Davy Jones' "I Can Make You Happy" and Scooby & Shaggy's duet of "Me and My Shadow" range from the harmless to the tedious; thoroughly unnecessary is "Scooby's Mystery Mix," a lame techno remix. ~ Jason Ankeny, All Music Guide
