A rounded, usually low-cut neckline, as on a blouse or dress. Also called scoop neckline.
A scoop neck shirt is one in which the scoop-shape neckline is dropped significantly below normal limits, but generally not so far as A-neck shirts commonly worn by men or the more unisex tank top [dubious ]. However, some scoop neck shirts, when worn by women, are cut low enough to display significant amounts of cleavage. These shirts come in a variety of forms, including those with and without buttons. At least one fashion designer has recently produced a line of shirts for men that can be converted to scoop neck shirts by clipping a thread in the collar[citation needed]. The scoop neck shirt is often worn as sports or casual wear by women, and has grown increasingly fashionable for men.
It should be noted that the exact shape of the neckline may vary from a slightly exaggerated circle to extremely severe parabolae, with limitless variation between.
