Scottish Enterprise taps into that legendary creativity, helping new and existing Scottish companies with funding and expertise. An agency of the Scottish Executive, Scotland's autonomous government, SE provides grants to foreign companies placing operations in Scotland and Scottish ventures looking to expand exports. It owns half of venture capital firm Scottish Equity Partners. SE also promotes Scottish business with offices throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. Scottish Enterprise operates 12 local enterprise companies (LECs) across the southern half of Scotland.
