Biography

No, not the Liverpool outfit from the end of the 1950s -- these Searchers were a Los Angeles-based R&B harmony vocal group with a solid accompaniment (including a guitarist proficient in blues). According to scholar Jim Dawson, they were almost certainly the Hollywood Flames (i.e., Bobby Day and Earl Nelson and band), and left behind one single, "Wow Wow Baby" b/w "Ooh Wee," on the Class label, the former sung by Nelson and the latter by Day. ~ Bruce Eder, All Music Guide
