Shea Seger is an American singer-songwriter born in Fort Worth, Texas. Her sound has been likened to a combination of Olivia Newton-John, Sheryl Crow, Ani DiFranco and Tori Amos. Seger describes her music as "mutt dog... bluesy pop with beats".[citation needed]
Seger studied musical theatre in Virginia before moving to London to record her first album.[citation needed]
She has toured with Toploader, James, David Gray and John Mayer.
Her debut album The May Street Project was released in 2000. She made the album together with Martin Terefe and Nick Whitecross. The first single from the album was Last Time.
She has contributed two tracks to the soundtrack of the film Railed (2008) written/directed by Ryan Fox. These tracks are "Hourglass" and "Surrender". The new tracks have a pared down feel, moving away from the 'pop/beats' sound to a simple blues/country guitar accompaniment.
