Seoul Guarantee Insurance (SGI, 서울보증보험) is a financial services company incorporated in Korea. Headquartered in Seoul, South Korea, SGI is the largest provider of surety and credit insurance. It is fully owned by Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation, a government institution that insures the bank deposits.
History
The company was formed after the merger between Hankuk and Korea Fidelity and Surety Corporation during the economic crisis that hit Korea in 1998. A huge layout and restructuring followed.
It has S&P raings 'A-'/stable in 22.jan.2008.
Also Fitch ratings 'A'/stable in 28.jan.2008.
