Seth Suleman Ismail Chhapra (1912 - 1974) a kind, gentle and humble personality, well known in the timber trade. He came to Mumbai from a small town called Mangrol in Gujarat, with nothing more than a will, a desire to work and without a single rupee in his pocket. He founded the United Timber Industries way back in 1951 and made it a name to be reckoned with in the timber industry, not only in India, but also, in the whole world.
