Shakuntala A. Singh is an Indian educational administrator, Professor of Philosophy and Deputy Editor, Mens Sana Monographs.
At present, she is the Principal, Reader and Head of the Department of Philosophy, Joshi-Bedekar College of Arts and Commerce, Thane (West), Maharashtra, India. She is a recognised Ph.D. Guide in Philosophy in Mumbai University. She is also a Member, Board of Studies, University of Mumbai.
She received her M.A. degree in philosophy from Dharwad University, India, and her Ph.D. degree from Bombay University in Comparative Philosophy. She was awarded a fellowship by the Indian University Grants Commission for her work on a comparative study of Gautama and Aristotle. She worked in Indian Philosophy as a Post Doctoral Fellow of the Indian Council of Philosophical Research on the topic, A Perspectival Sketch of Indian Philosophical Thought.
She has written Papers in Philosophy published in various journals, besides Papers read at National and International Conferences. She has addressed various forums, symposia, workshops on Philosophy and related issues. She has co-authored many Monographs published by the Mens Sana Monographs related to topics in philosophy, psychiatry, health and ethical issues in medicine.
She is a Co-Founder of the Mens Sana Research Foundation, and Deputy Editor, Mens Sana Monographs (ISSN 0973-1229), which deals with foundational/conceptual issues concerning medicine, mental health, Man and society.
