Sharon Waxman is an American journalist who has been a correspondent for The Washington Post and The New York Times, among others.
She is the author of the book Rebels on the Backlot: Six Maverick Directors and How They Conquered the Hollywood Studio System, which features profiles of directors Quentin Tarantino, Paul Thomas Anderson, David Fincher, Steven Soderbergh, David O. Russell, and Spike Jonze.
Her latest book, Loot, explores the global trade in antiquities and asks who is the rightful caretaker of our past. It was published in November 2008. According to CBS Market Watch, Sharon has raised $500,000 for her new venture The Wrap News, which has launched on 26th, January 2009 as a news portal site covering entertainment and media.
She is a 1985 graduate of Barnard College, Columbia University and a 1987 graduate of St. Antony's College, Oxford University.
