Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani (Arabic: الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني) is the Crown Prince of Qatar. He was born on 3 June 1980. He is the son of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and his second wife, Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned.
He was educated at Sherborne School, UK (and Harrow School, UK, for one year, 1995-6) in 1997 receiving his A Levels. He then went on to Sandhurst Military Academy, UK, graduating in 1998. He has a number of posts including:
- Head of the Qatari National Olympic Committee.
- Member of the International Olympic Committee.
- Head of the Upper Council of the Environment and Natural Sanctuaries.
He has also participated in a number of regional and international conferences and accompanied HH the Emir to a number of official visits to countries.
He became Crown Prince on 2003, after his older brother Sheikh Jasim bin Hamad Al-Thani renounced his rights in his favour.
