("the Lord is my peace")

A man of the tribe of Simeon, son of Zurishaddai, who was appointed by the Lord to help Moses take a census of the Children of Israel in the wilderness. Later he was appointed leader of his tribe (Num 2:12) on behalf of which he presented the ritual offering to the tabernacle set up by Moses (Num 7:36-41). He led the armies of his tribe when the Children of Israel set out on their march to the promised land.
