Shinano (信濃町 Shinano-machi) is a town located in Kamiminochi District, Nagano, Japan.
As of 2005, the town has an estimated population of 9,851 and a density of 65.99 persons per km². The total area is 149.27 km².
Lake Nojiri and Mount Kurohime are in Shinano. Kobayashi Issa, a Haiku poet, was born and died here.
