Shirley Jordan

Shirley Jordan is the author of Explorers to the New World and The American Revolution, among various other titles in the "Moments in History" series. In the former title Jordan introduces young readers to explorers who discovered new lands and formerly unknown cultures. Dedicating chapters to people like Christopher Columbus, Cabeza de Vaca, and the Vikings, she provides readers with an in-depth look into the lives of these individuals, who can be credited with establishing the groundwork for many modern-day societies. According to Helen Rosenberg in Booklist, "students who read the book from cover to cover will get a sense of the progression of exploration."
