(geology) That moisture content of a soil below which a decrease in moisture content will not cause a decrease in volume, but above which an increase in moisture will cause an increase in volume.

Of a soil, that water content at which a reduction in water content will not cause a decrease in the volume of the soil mass, but an increase in water content will cause an increase in the volume of soil mass.
