The Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is the statutory fire and rescue service covering Shropshire, including Telford and Wrekin, in the West Midlands region of England.

Shropshire's Fire and Rescue Service is provided by 500 fulltime and retained firefighters based at 23 fire stations around the county. They currently deploy 46 operational vehicles and a number of specialist appliances.

Organisation and Management

Fire Authority

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is governed by Elected Council representatives from Shropshire's two unitary Councils, Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin Council, together these representatives make up the Shropshire and Wrekin Fire Authority, chaired by an elected Councillor, the current Chair is Cllr. Stuart West.

Day to day Operational control of the service, is vested in the Chief Fire Officer (CFO), the current CFO is Paul Raymond.


Executive Control

Within the organisation the CFO whom has full responsibility for the service also manages the Treasurer, Finance and Corporate Services.

The remainder of executive duties falls to the senior management team, consisting of:

Assistant Chief Officer (Non-Uniformed) - Louise McKenzie (Human Resources, Training, Development and Chaplaincy)

Assistant Chief Fire Officer - Dr. Steve Worrall PhD.(Performance and Risk, Programme Office and Information and Communications Technology).

Assistant Chief Fire Officer (Temporary) - Jon Wagstaff (Fire Control & Convergence, Operations, Fire Safety and Management/Admin Support) Head of Resources, currently Andrew Kelcey (Asset Management, Environment, Procurement and Workshops).
