Sich hûb vor gotes trône
Sich hûb vor gotes trône, first line of an untitled anonymous 14th-c. Middle High German poem of nearly 500 lines, recounting with great brevity a history of man from the standpoint of his redemption by Jesus Christ. One section, in which the four Daughters of God consider man's sinfulness, and the Son of God proposes to redeem him, is worked out more fully in quasi-dramatic form.
